About The Position
This is an extra duty position for a Grade 4/5 Boys Basketball Assistant Coach at Vogel K6. The role involves developing and implementing an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The position requires ensuring compliance with school and school board policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and community representatives, demonstrating professional growth, completing records and reports accurately and timely, demonstrating proficiency in standard English, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Instructional responsibilities include fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, building supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrating enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promoting self-direction and self-motivation in students, and creating clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. Subject matter expertise includes comprehensive knowledge of basketball, adapting instruction to student needs, and developing an organized athletic program with long-term planning. Coaching techniques should clearly convey fundamental expectations, utilize varied methods, and maintain a system for monitoring student progress.

- Clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations to student athletes and explain their significance for personal, athletic, and academic growth.
- Utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
- Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
