About The Position

This is an extra duty position for a 6th Grade Boys Basketball Assistant Coach at Vogel K6. The role involves developing and implementing an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The position requires ensuring compliance with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and the community, demonstrating professional growth, completing records and reports accurately, demonstrating proficiency in English, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. The coach will foster positive interactions among student-athletes, build supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promote self-direction and self-motivation in students, and create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. The coach must exhibit comprehensive knowledge of basketball, adapt instruction to student needs, develop and sustain an organized athletic program with long-term planning, employ diverse strategies for student athlete development, clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations, utilize appropriate coaching techniques, and maintain a system for monitoring student progress.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.
