About The Position

The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing, supervising, and instructing student-athletes in the assigned sport while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, skill development, and character. The coach supports the district’s educational mission by providing a safe and positive athletic experience for all participants.

Requirements

  • Must be able to plan and conduct practices, training sessions, and competitions.
  • Must be able to teach sport-specific skills, rules, and strategies.
  • Must be able to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsible behavior among student-athletes.
  • Must be able to supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities.
  • Must ensure compliance with district policies and rules established by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
  • Must monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and encourage academic success.
  • Must communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and administration.
  • Must maintain equipment, uniforms, and program records.
  • Must model professionalism and positive conduct consistent with district expectations.
  • Must nurture a positive relationship with super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
  • Must demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
  • Must support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
  • Must work as a team player.
  • Must demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Must address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
