About The Position

This is an extra duty position for a Grade 5 Girls Basketball Coach at Oak Hill K6 for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary function is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The role involves ensuring compliance with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and community, demonstrating professional growth, completing records accurately, demonstrating proficiency in English, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, and assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities. It also includes ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. The coach will foster positive interactions among student-athletes, build supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promote self-direction and self-motivation in students, and create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of the sport, adapting instruction to student needs, developing and sustaining an organized athletic program with long-term planning, employing diverse strategies, clearly conveying coaching expectations, and maintaining a system for monitoring student progress.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.
