About The Position

The General Service Technician provides quality service and vehicle repairs in a timely manner. The role follows and promotes the company’s mission and core values while contributing to the success of the team. The technician performs basic automotive maintenance and tire services, inspects vehicles, operates customer vehicles in service bays, and maintains professional relationships with customers and coworkers. The position also requires keeping tools, equipment, and work areas clean, functional, safe, and organized.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Mechanically inclined.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong customer service skills and a desire to build long-term trust and relationships with customers.
Willingness to work Saturdays.
Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting the specified levels of force; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in basic car care is helpful but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Change oil and oil filters in cars and light trucks.
Install, repair, and rotate automobile tires.
Inspect and top off engine fluids.
Lubricate front-end parts as needed.
Perform thorough vehicle inspections using a checklist covering potential trouble spots such as belts, hoses, and brakes.
Move and operate customer vehicles into and out of service bays.
Maintain positive relationships with customers.
Maintain positive and productive working relationships with coworkers and management.
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and functional.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Represent the organization professionally, projecting trust, honesty, and respect.
