About The Position

The General Production role at JBS USA involves handling live animals and processing carcasses and products on the harvest floor. The role includes preparing products to customer specifications, operating equipment to weigh and move product, and shipping orders. Work takes place in a meat-processing environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, moving machinery, knives, hooks, hot water, and slippery floors.

Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures with frequent exposure to moving machinery, knives, hooks, hot water, and slippery floors.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a meat-processing plant or similar manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Unload and segregate live animals humanely and prepare them for entry to the harvest floor.
Stun animals humanely before they enter the harvest floor.
Remove hides using dehider knives and other powered equipment.
Harvest blood on the harvest floor in preparation for customers.
Trim carcasses to remove contaminants.
Harvest offal products and prepare them for customers.
Operate scales to weigh products and support accurate payments to producers and customers.
Break down carcasses and save primal cuts as requested by customers.
Trim products to customer specifications.
Box and bag trim and primal cuts to customer specifications.
Operate lifts to move products into storage and prepare them for shipment.
Ship products as orders are received.
