About The Position

At Pilgrim’s, safety comes first. Production team members help deliver safe, high-quality poultry products by performing hands-on processing-line tasks such as cutting, trimming, packaging, and inspecting products. The role involves operating equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and following food safety, safety, and biosecurity guidelines in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and teamwork are important. Team members may be asked to work in different production areas as needed.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some weekend work required. The position is located in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Pilgrim’s conducts drug, alcohol, and background checks for new team members after an offer and before employment begins. Employment eligibility must be verified by the end of the third day of work.

Requirements

• Ability to multitask and work quickly.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense.
• Ability to work as part of a team and work close to other employees at some stations, less than 3 feet apart.
• Ability to work in cool temperatures of around 40 degrees.
• Ability to stand and use hands for 8–11 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process poultry products using tools, manual labor, and equipment according to USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
• Monitor equipment operation and promptly report malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety, food safety, and animal welfare guidelines.
• Support team members by sharing skills and knowledge and promoting a positive work atmosphere.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet production and quality goals.
• Perform tasks in different production areas as needed.
