About The Position

The General Merchandise Team Leader leads General Merchandise operations and team members to deliver a consistent, guest-first experience. The role blends completion of operational work—including replenishment, pricing and signing, setting and maintaining the sales floor and backroom, and inbound, outbound, and fulfillment responsibilities—with developing team capabilities and improving workload efficiency. With direction from a direct leader, the Team Leader plans and executes daily and weekly workloads, supports department and store sales goals, and helps ensure merchandise is available, accurately priced, signed, and easy to shop. The role includes coaching, training, evaluating, and retaining hourly team members; assigning tasks; reinforcing operational and safety expectations; and identifying development opportunities and potential future leaders. The Team Leader reviews guest, financial, team, and operational reporting to spot gaps, recommend improvements, and drive results. The position may also involve guest service support, fulfillment work, merchandise protection, compliance and safety activities, and occasional store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities. This is a physically active, full-time role with a variable schedule, including possible nights, weekends, holidays, closing shifts, and peak shopping times. The role does not guarantee 40 hours per week; hours depend on business needs and may fluctuate. Work may involve varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements, and requires mobility throughout a scheduled shift.
