About The Position

As a General Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of Canada’s leading casual dining restaurant. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that our most important people, our guests and our team members, have an excellent Boston Pizza experience from start to finish. This role requires a high degree of commitment, flexibility, and ownership. Strong candidates are those who genuinely embrace the lifestyle and accountability that come with leading a flagship corporate restaurant. Skilled at overseeing food preparation, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and monitoring inventory levels, they also demonstrate outstanding leadership, having a food service background is preferred, communicate effectively and most of all, champion a fun and safe working environment for all. The role requires a unique combination of operational strength, professionalism, resilience, and personal accountability. The successful candidate must consistently act with an ownership mentality, even within a corporate structure.

Requirements

  • A seasoned restaurant operator (minimum of 3 years of progressive hospitality leadership experience) with a proven track record of managing high-volume operations.
  • Professional in both presentation and conduct, with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Deeply committed to the Boston Pizza brand and invested in long-term success.
  • Capable of holding high standards while still building trust and engagement with their team; someone who can be firm, fair, and respected.
  • Comfortable operating within a corporate environment, understanding that success sometimes requires navigating established processes, multiple stakeholders, and limited control over certain decisions.
  • Highly resilient, adaptable, and solutions-oriented when faced with operational challenges - positive mindset.
  • Strongly focused on sales growth, guest experience, and community engagement, while maintaining disciplined execution of the fundamentals.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to employment standards, health & safety, liquor regulations, and food safety compliance.
  • Food safety certification and responsible alcohol service certification, where applicable, are required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
  • A leader who balances operational excellence with people development and succession planning.
  • Fluent in French, with functional English proficiency required to communicate effectively with English-speaking guests and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary education in Business Administration, Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent restaurant management experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily restaurant operations to deliver consistently excellent Guest experience from arrival to departure. Provides team direction, upholds operational standards, monitors performance, and achieves business goals within budget. This includes reviewing daily sales, coordinating shift coverage, resolving Guest concerns, monitoring food quality and service speed, and ensuring inventory and supplies are available for smooth operations.
  • Develops, motivates, and supports team members by fostering a positive, engaging work environment. Recognizes strong performance, provides coaching and feedback, promotes accountability, and supports ongoing learning and development.
  • Drives Guest traffic by developing and executing local marketing, advertising, public relations, and community engagement initiatives. Builds restaurant awareness, strengthens community relationships, and supports business growth.
  • Champions a fun, safe, and positive work environment while contributing to a strong workplace culture. Upholds the Foundations of Hospitality, Heart of Hospitality, Boston Pizza Brand Standards, and food safety requirements.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills to support a dynamic team. Leads both Front of House and Heart of House operations, ensuring alignment and teamwork. Leads by example and works alongside team members.
  • Partners directly with corporate team members to support overall restaurant performance, including financial results and brand standards.
  • Supports testing initiatives, including menu and equipment trials, by providing feedback and results.
