The work environment may include adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped areas such as walk-in coolers, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Store temperatures may range from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees or higher in some work areas.
