About The Position
Salt & Straw is hiring a full-time Assistant General Manager for its Lincoln Road shop in Miami Beach, Florida. Assistant General Managers support the overall success of the shop by leading people, operational execution, and guest experience in a fast-paced retail and food service environment. Working closely with the General Manager, this role supports daily operations, develops strong teams, and helps create exceptional experiences for employees and guests. The Assistant General Manager contributes to operational excellence, an engaging and inclusive shop culture, and the shop’s role as a neighborhood destination. The position pays $22.90–$24.27 per hour, with quarterly bonus potential. The broader earning range is listed as $22.90–$27.99. The role may involve exposure to common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality experience.
- At least 18 months of progressive leadership experience.
- Experience leading teams of 10 or more Team Members in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to coach, develop, and support people with clarity and care.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the General Manager to achieve operational, cultural, and financial goals.
- Lead shifts to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Plan and execute daily shift schedules, task assignments, and team safety.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to Team Members, Shift Coordinators, and Scoopers.
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of a high-performing team.
- Manage cash transactions and inventory, and ensure product quality and food safety.
- Assist with payroll, supplies, shop communications, and daily documentation.
- Monitor labor and sales performance and support monthly profit-and-loss insights.
- Partner on maintenance needs and vendor communications.
- Deliver memorable hospitality, share flavor stories, and resolve guest concerns.
- Step into team roles as needed and participate in community events.
