About The Position

We are a growing, locally owned home-services company providing pest control, mosquito control, and professional lighting services throughout the Greater Greenville area. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on General Manager in Training who wants to learn how to operate and grow a service business from the ground up. This is not a traditional office management position. You will initially work alongside ownership and our employees to learn every aspect of the business, including field operations, customer service, scheduling, sales, hiring, training, inventory, equipment, financial performance, and team leadership. As you demonstrate proficiency and leadership ability, you will assume increasing responsibility for managing the day-to-day business. Our objective is to develop the successful candidate into the General Manager responsible for running the company’s daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and participate in pest and mosquito control services.
  • Learn and participate in residential and commercial pest-control operations.
  • Learn and participate in landscape and architectural lighting.
  • Learn and participate in permanent lighting installation and service.
  • Learn and participate in holiday lighting installation, maintenance, takedown, and storage.
  • Learn and participate in customer service and account management.
  • Learn and participate in scheduling and technician routing.
  • Learn and participate in estimating and sales.
  • Learn and participate in inventory and purchasing.
  • Learn and participate in vehicle, trailer, tool, and equipment management.
  • Learn and participate in hiring and employee onboarding.
  • Learn and participate in financial and operational performance management.
  • Coordinate daily schedules and technician routes.
  • Ensure jobs are properly staffed and completed on schedule.
  • Monitor field productivity and workmanship.
  • Perform quality-control inspections.
  • Manage inventory, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Help resolve operational problems.
  • Improve processes and operating efficiency.
  • Support field operations when additional help is required.
  • Recruit and interview prospective employees.

  • Help develop operating budgets and goals and be accountable for achieving agreed-upon financial and operational targets.
