About The Position

The General Manager II at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of a warehouse and for developing and implementing strategies to optimize warehouse operations. The role leads Operations Managers and staff, fosters a safe and productive work environment, and contributes to the success of DHL Supply Chain’s contract logistics operations. The position oversees warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods; manages vendor relationships and site operations in accordance with the commercial agreement; and is accountable for the site’s profit and loss. It also maintains customer relationships through close daily contact and presents Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to customers. The role uses warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to monitor inventory and performance and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
At least 2 years of experience in supply chain, warehousing, or distribution.
Staff management experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics experience is preferred.
P&L management experience is preferred.
Project management experience is preferred.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
Lead, motivate, coach, and support Operations Managers and staff while developing a strong team culture.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee facility operations and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Use warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify improvement opportunities.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while managing the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain close daily contact with customers to build strong relationships and support customer satisfaction.
Manage the site's profit and loss (P&L), which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
Prepare and present Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to customers, using strong team collaboration.
