About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the assigned facility, keeping it clean, sanitary, and orderly, and completing other tasks related to the assignment. The work includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, common areas, the food court, and outdoor grounds. The cleaner follows established procedures for dusting, sanitizing, spot cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and restocking dispensers, while inspecting completed work and correcting issues as needed. The cleaner is also expected to provide courteous customer service, work quietly, maintain a neat personal appearance, stay in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and report broken items or incomplete assignments to a supervisor. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, including methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of using toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform the assigned duties, including walking, standing or sitting for extended periods; operating equipment; lifting or carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing or pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Visual ability, including depth perception and hand-eye coordination, to perform cleaning tasks and safely operate equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and other designated areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and remove fingerprints, smudges, and spots from walls, doorknobs, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, clean them if they contain liquid, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and clean and dispose of collected dust.
Clean outdoor areas by emptying ash urns and trash cans, picking up litter, spot-cleaning spills, removing gum, and wiping designated surfaces.
Maintain public common areas by dust mopping and spot mopping hallways, cleaning glass, maintaining planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, remove trash, spot-clean spills, return chairs to their places, and clean and stack trays using the tray power washer.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, cleaning under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room, assist or direct customers courteously, and report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor.
Work quietly, maintain a neat personal appearance, stay in the assigned area unless directed elsewhere, and report unfinished work to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
