About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at an assigned Home Depot facility in Dayton. The role keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary, and orderly and includes cleaning rooms, restrooms, floors, grounds, public common areas, and the food court. The cleaner follows established procedures for dusting, sanitizing, waste removal, floor care, and customer service, and performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, which may include specialized floor and carpet care.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform the assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; operating equipment; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing or pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching overhead; and handling and grasping tools and equipment.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, and ledges.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when needed, and replace liners.
Dust or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and clean up dust and debris.
Clean and check exterior areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, benches, vending machines, window ledges, public-area glass, and parking lots.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways; clean glass and planters, and check window areas and corners for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, spot-clean spills, empty trash, process dirty trays using a tray power washer, and check outside eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, working from the back of the room toward the exit.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and correct issues as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Follow customer-service practices, including being courteous, working quietly, reporting broken or out-of-order items, and staying in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise.
Report to a supervisor if assigned work is incomplete at the end of the shift.
Perform other assigned duties, potentially including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
