About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the assigned Home Depot facility in Spring Hill. The role keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary, and orderly and includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, public areas, the food court, and exterior grounds. The cleaner follows established procedures for using cleaning solutions and equipment, checks work after completing each area, and reports issues to a supervisor. Other assigned duties may include floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals according to MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including chemical warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required for the assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; and reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering, including overhead reaching.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, replace liners, and wipe cans when needed.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and sanitize floors.
Clean exterior grounds, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curbs, and parking areas; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Maintain public common areas by dusting and spot-mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for debris and cobwebs.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, manage trash and trays, and police outside eating areas.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and correct issues as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; spot-clean walls and perform high dusting daily.
Provide courteous customer service, work quietly, remain in the assigned area, and maintain a neat appearance.
Report broken or out-of-order items and incomplete assignments to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor care and carpet cleaning.
