About The Position

Gate Guards provide positive, timely service to customers entering and leaving Fleet Farm’s Yard and help secure the gate entrance. The role supports smooth traffic flow, verifies customer purchases and loading, helps customers locate merchandise for loading, and works with Warehouse and Customer Service team members. Gate Guards also help reduce shrink, identify potential load-safety concerns, assist with assembly projects as needed, and promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn and operate an RF unit, tablet, or other technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient, accurate customer service to support smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area.
Help provide security services to protect people and property.
Verify customer purchases by reviewing receipts and outside loading slips.
Direct customers to merchandise locations for proper loading.
Follow standard policies and procedures to help reduce company shrink.
Communicate incoming customers to Warehouse team members for timely interaction.
Verify loading accuracy using an RF unit and the outside loading application, as well as a physical count.
Communicate with the Customer Service Department and retain outside loading slips for loads that were not fully loaded.
Inform customers of potential safety concerns regarding their loads.
Assist with assembly projects as needed.
Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
