2nd Shift Gate Guard
About The Position
Monitor facility entry and exit by physically inspecting carriers, visitors, and vendors to protect the integrity of the cross-dock facility. This full-time position is located at 13520 Mercury Drive, Laredo, Texas, and reports to the Shift Supervisor. The schedule is Thursday through Monday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with overtime as needed and some weekends required with advance notice. The role requires following proper personal protective equipment requirements when entering the dock area, including wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket and steel-toe shoes or shoe coverings. Team members must maintain safety certifications and standards required by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn new computer programs as necessary.
- Solid work history.
- Willingness to function successfully in a team environment.
- Follow proper PPE requirements for entering the dock area and maintain safety certifications and standards required by management.
Nice To Haves
- Guard experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and authorize or deny entrance to carriers, vendors, and visitors.
- Create trailer inspection reports for incoming and outgoing company equipment.
- Review related documentation for verification and entry approval.
- Communicate and report arriving loads to dispatch personnel via radio.
- Record and document all entries in physical and computer logs.
- Create end-of-shift (EOS) reports for CTPAT.
- Follow all company processes.
- Conduct facility round checks.
