About The Position

Q3 Contracting, a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is hiring field professionals for multiple union construction opportunities supporting natural gas distribution projects throughout Iowa. Roles include equipment operators, general laborers, PE pipe fusers, pipe welders and fitters, plumbers, horizontal directional drill operators, utility locators, traffic control specialists, flaggers, foremen, sewer camera technicians, and restoration professionals. The work includes operating heavy equipment, installing underground utilities, maintaining safe job sites, and supporting crews. Occasional travel may be necessary depending on project needs. Specific qualifications and duties vary by position.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and safely perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally when project needs require it.
• Participation in applicable federally compliant PHMSA or FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment and ongoing random testing.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is highly preferred.
• Class A CDL with applicable endorsements is highly preferred, but is not required for all positions.
• Previous construction experience in natural gas distribution, pipeline, electric, transmission, telecommunications, water, sewer, landscaping, concrete/asphalt, agriculture, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, potentially including backhoes, skid steers, trenchers, and vacuum equipment.
• Install underground utilities and support natural gas distribution construction projects.
• Help maintain safe job sites and keep crews moving.
• Perform duties specific to the assigned trade or position.
• Follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
• Travel occasionally when required by project needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
