About The Position

Q3 Contracting, a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is hiring field professionals for multiple union construction opportunities supporting natural gas distribution projects in Des Moines, Iowa, and surrounding areas. Open roles include equipment operators, general laborers, PE pipe fusers, pipe welders, pipe fitters, plumbers, horizontal directional drill operators, utility locators, traffic control specialists, flaggers, foremen, sewer camera technicians, and restoration professionals. Specific qualifications and requirements may vary by position. Work includes activities such as operating heavy equipment, installing underground utilities, maintaining safe job sites, and supporting field crews. Projects serve essential infrastructure in the Des Moines area. Occasional short-term travel may be necessary depending on project needs. Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and safely perform physically demanding work.
Willingness to travel occasionally when project needs require it.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
Participation in applicable federally compliant PHMSA or FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment and ongoing random testing.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is highly preferred.
Class A CDL with applicable endorsements is highly preferred, but not required for all positions.
Previous construction experience in natural gas distribution, pipeline, electric, transmission, telecommunications, water, sewer, landscaping, concrete/asphalt, agriculture, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment and support construction activities, depending on position.
