About The Position
Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking a reliable Gardener to maintain clean, healthy, and visually appealing outdoor spaces. The Gardener is responsible for planting, pruning, mowing, and general landscape and grounds maintenance across casino areas. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following work orders or instructions from the Facilities Manager/Supervisor, keeping the assigned work area safe, assisting the Engineering department with miscellaneous projects, and performing other duties as assigned. The position requires availability for full-time work, including varied shifts, weekends, evening scheduling, and on-call or overtime work when necessary. Applicants must pass a background check and drug test and be at least 21 years old.
Requirements
- Pass a mandatory background check and drug test.
- Be at least 21 years of age.

- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- One to two years of grounds maintenance experience and knowledge of plant cultivation and fertilizer use.
- Be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain turf and landscaping on company grounds and in casino areas.
- Mow grass and apply fertilizer and chemicals for weed and pest control.
- Install and maintain sprinkler systems.
- Plant and care for landscaping, turf, grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Maintain established lawns through mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, seed sowing, thatch removal, and trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
- Water lawns and shrubs.
- Prune or trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using appropriate tools.
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment, including mowers, tractors, forklifts, blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or brush trimmers, and axes.
- Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Make minor repairs to maintenance equipment, including lawn mowers and spreaders.
- Read work orders or follow instructions from the Facilities Manager/Supervisor.
- Maintain the assigned work area in a safe condition.
- Assist the Engineering department with miscellaneous projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
