About The Position
The Garage Valet Attendant is a customer service position responsible for parking and retrieving customer vehicles. The role focuses on providing a positive, efficient, safe, and secure parking experience and making a strong impression through friendly, professional interactions with guests and customers. Attendants help maintain an organized garage operation, share information about the garage when requested, and support the shift transition. Cleaning duties may also be assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing; able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
- Able to smile during customer interactions.
- Upbeat personality, willingness to go the extra mile, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to move quickly and stand for long periods.
- Ability to organize cars efficiently.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and pass a driving test on a manual-transmission vehicle.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Able to pass a criminal background check and RMV check.
- Clean driving record deemed insurable by VPNE’s current insurance provider.
- Ability to create relationships with customers and stay organized.
Responsibilities
- Keep the safety of self and others in mind at all times.
- Park customers’ vehicles in designated spots safely and securely, minimizing the potential for accidents.
- Keep track of keys and vehicles throughout the garage.
- Provide an exceptional guest experience through positive and friendly interactions.
- Maintain organization at the operation and organize cars efficiently.
- Create a positive environment for customers and teammates.
- Use professional communication and VPNE-approved language choices.
- Help facilitate the transition at the end of the shift.
- Provide information about the garage, including hours, rates, and promotions, upon request.
- Maintain a neatly groomed appearance and meet uniform standards while on the job premises.
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned.
- Adhere to the VPNE attendance policy.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures, wear appropriate safety gear, and promptly report hazards or incidents.
- Fill out damage or accident reports/supports.
