About The Position

At Gardens Interactive, the Gameplay Tools Engineer creates custom Unreal Engine tools that support teams across the studio. The role partners with stakeholders to understand their iteration workflows and builds bespoke tools using C++ within the Unreal editor and in-game environments. These tools accelerate pipelines, enable rapid exploration of features, and support analysis and decision-making across game content. The engineer owns the technical architecture and implementation of multiple tools and supporting systems, working closely with stakeholders and production to improve iteration throughput. They collaborate with audio, VFX, and design teams on solutions for scalable content production, and serve as a technical bridge between gameplay and backend engineering for analysis and diagnostics systems. The role also supports game stability by helping identify and triage issues, collaborating on solutions, and reducing friction in development. This is a fully remote role at a distributed game studio, with applicants required to be authorized to work in the United States or Canada and willing to work within North American time zones (EST–PST).
