The Game Day Operator runs the court and welcomes athletes on game night. Depending on the assignment from the Game Day Lead, the operator may work at the score table, check-in, or on the floor helping set up the gym. The role ensures games are accurate, on time, and streamed, while providing athletes with a welcoming experience. The League Manager hires, schedules, and develops operators; the Game Day Lead trains and leads them on the floor. Running a court to the Brodie Standard can lead to floor leadership. Operators keep the score, clock, shot clock, fouls, timeouts, possession arrow, substitutions, and official scoresheet accurate. They set up and monitor the BallerTV stream, troubleshoot interruptions, and contact the Game Day Lead when needed. They greet athletes and teams, handle check-in and jerseys when assigned, answer questions, and direct drop-in players and spectators to the League Manager. The role also includes giving teams at least five minutes to warm up, starting games on time but never early, checking scoresheets for overdue balances and unrostered players, and escalating issues rather than making forfeit or roster decisions. Operators help set up and break down the gym, move between assigned duties as the crew rotates, and promptly escalate disputes, equipment failures, injuries, fights, and emergencies. They are expected to wear the full Brodie uniform, arrive on time, carry a walkie, remain neutral during play, follow table rules, complete training and certification before a solo shift, and accept on-the-spot feedback.
