About The Position

The GA Pre K Assistant Teacher supports the safety, education, and care of children at The Sunshine House’s Marietta, Georgia school. The role helps implement the Georgia Pre-K curriculum and prepare children for kindergarten while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. The assistant teacher works with the lead teacher, children, families, and the school team. The listed pay is $16.94 per hour; candidates with advanced early-childhood education and experience may qualify for higher pay within the range.

Requirements

Passion for working with young children.
Minimum of CDA or TCC.
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for child safety and emergencies.

Responsibilities

Help implement the Georgia Pre-K curriculum to prepare children for success in kindergarten.
Build relationships with children and provide a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Assist the lead teacher with preparing lesson plans and instructing children in age-appropriate activities in accordance with the Georgia Pre-K curriculum.
Welcome families and discuss their child's education and development.
Work as part of a supportive team.
