GA Pre K Lead Teacher
About The Position
The GA Pre K Lead Teacher helps provide for children’s safety, education, and care at The Sunshine House’s Kennesaw, Georgia location. The role supports implementation of the Georgia Pre-K curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten and helps create a safe, inclusive, positive learning environment. The teacher works with children, families, and a supportive team, and engages families in conversations about children’s education and development. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule. Pay is based on the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning state salary schedule, which considers experience and education. The Sunshine House provides paid professional development and supports continuing education, including CDA program funding and the TEACH program.
Requirements
- Passion for working with young children.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
- Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.

- A bachelor's degree in education or a teaching certificate is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Help implement the Georgia Pre-K curriculum to prepare children for success in kindergarten.
- Foster relationships with children and provide a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Assist in preparing lesson plans and instructing children in age-appropriate activities according to the Georgia Pre-K curriculum.
- Welcome families and engage them in conversation about their child's education and development.
- Work as part of a supportive team.
