The Frozen Food Manager exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. This role directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. Responsibilities include changing signs and prices, maintaining appropriate stock and inventory, minimizing out-of-stock product, writing frozen food orders, checking orders for completeness, rotating product, and removing expired stock daily. The manager also keeps frozen food cases stocked, cleans the department area, restocks items in the freezer for other departments, loads boards from trucks onto pallets, takes pallets to the sales floor with a pallet jack, breaks down cardboard boxes for the bailer, checks and fills the ice machine, restocks end displays, and cleans spills. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will manage product removal, case cleaning, and restocking. This role may also function as a cashier/checker during peak times.
