About The Position

A well-established, independently owned wood-fired restaurant and bar in a historic West Virginia town is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead dining room and bar service and set the standard for guest visits. The concept features wood-fired pizza, smoked wings, scratch-made salads, a full bar with local and regional craft beer and wine, live music, and private and seasonal events. The role offers a direct view into the operation of a successful independent restaurant and a potential step toward a General Manager position.

Requirements

At least 2 years of front-of-house leadership experience—such as FOH Manager, Assistant Manager, Bar Manager, or senior shift lead—in a full-service restaurant with a bar program.
Confident floor presence and ability to remain steady during high-volume service.
Comfort with scheduling, POS systems, and basic cost control.
ServSafe and alcohol service certification, or willingness to obtain them.
Genuine interest in small-town living; candidates relocating from larger markets are welcome.

Responsibilities

Lead daily dining room and bar service, including running the floor during peak shifts.
Hire, train, and coach servers, bartenders, and hosts while fostering hospitality and a positive team culture.
Build front-of-house schedules and manage labor against sales.
Support the beverage program with the bar team, including inventory and ordering.
Handle guest feedback in the moment and follow through on service recovery.
Coordinate front-of-house execution for live music nights, private events, and seasonal programming.
Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and liquor licensing compliance.
Partner with the General Manager and ownership on guest experience and service standards.
