About The Position

We’re hiring a Front Desk Receptionist to join our Academic Alliance in Dermatology team in Tampa, FL. This role plays an important part in creating a positive patient experience while supporting day-to-day front office operations, including patient check-in and check-out, scheduling, payments, insurance information, and maintaining accurate patient records. Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards.
  • Comfortable using multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel to and provide coverage at nearby practice locations as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing or customer service role required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
  • 1-3 years of recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting preferred.
  • Previous dermatology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Screen calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals.
  • Take accurate and concise phone messages.
  • Enter complete patient demographics when scheduling appointments.
  • Review patient charts to ensure required information and signatures are complete.
  • Check patients in and out.
  • Monitor patients in the reception area and communicate with them as needed.
  • Collect patient payments.
  • Update product inventory and fulfill inventory orders.
  • Run end-of-day reports and balance payment totals when assigned closing duties.
  • Distribute incoming reports and correspondence to patient charts.
  • Ensure phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Treat patients with dignity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Assist other staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
