About The Position

Patient Concierge is part of Cardinal Health Practice Operations Management, which oversees the business and administrative operations of medical practices. Patient Concierge staff assist patients with non-clinical tasks, such as lodging, transportation, and general customer service, to make treatment more comfortable and convenient. This role supports front-desk and administrative operations at cCARE in Encinitas, California. The position is expected to apply acquired job skills and company policies to standard tasks and routine assignments, refer to policies and past practices for guidance, and consult a supervisor or senior peers about complex or unusual problems. The role receives general direction on standard work and detailed instruction on new assignments.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and families.
Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files.
Schedule patient appointments.
Receive and correctly record patient payment receipts.
Enter, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information.
Obtain insurance verifications (VOB), pre-authorizations, and pre-determinations.
Process requests for records from outside sources.
Scan data into document imaging software.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Ensure processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
Perform other functions as required by management.
