About The Position

The Front Desk/Host welcomes Guests and helps create a positive first and last impression at Dave & Buster’s. This role guides Guests through retail, game-rental, and dining experiences, manages the flow of Guests at the entrance, and communicates wait times and other information to Guests, Team Members, and Managers. It also supports table turnover and seating, completes transactions, and helps maintain a clean, stocked, and organized front desk and host station. The position requires a friendly, enthusiastic communicator who can assist multiple Guests, respond calmly to dissatisfied Guests, and bring concerns to a Manager’s attention. Restaurant, retail, or cashier experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and able to read and communicate in English. The role involves working in a noisy, fast-paced environment, standing or walking throughout the shift, and lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Compensation is listed as $7.25–$10.25 per hour; a separate Salary Range is shown as $7.25–$13.25 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be able to read and communicate in English, including clearly delivering greetings, requests for assistance, and farewells to Guests.
Must communicate effectively with multiple Guests while generating enthusiasm for Dave & Buster’s.
Must be able to respond calmly to dissatisfied Guests and bring issues to a Manager’s attention.
Must be friendly and able to smile frequently.
Must follow dress guidelines and maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
Must be able to read and write handwritten notes.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to move about the facility and stand or walk for 100% of the shift.
Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
Must be able to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.
Must be able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions.

Restaurant, retail, or cashier experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet Guests warmly, serve as an ambassador for the building, and assist with their retail, game-rental, and dining experiences.
Coordinate game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephone inquiries.
Keep the immediate supervisor informed about significant problems or unusual matters, take corrective action where appropriate, and suggest alternatives when needed.
Bid farewell to Guests, check whether their experience was satisfactory, and invite them to return.
Prepare the station for shifts by stocking supplies such as menus, silverware, Power cards, and gift cards.
Review and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station; ensure menus are clean, maintained, and stocked; and restock necessary supplies.
Bring work areas up to standard and discuss problem areas with the Manager.
Conduct merchandise inventory during and after shifts, if applicable.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with other Team Members and assist them as needed or as business requires.
Notify the Manager when a Guest appears unhappy.
Support table turnover by identifying open tables and bussing and cleaning tables as necessary.
Rotate seating according to guidelines to ensure fairness and balance in dining areas.
Manage the flow of Guests from the front doors and direct them as needed.
Manage wait times and communicate relevant information to Guests, Team Members, and Managers.
Deliver silverware as Guests are seated.
Greet and assist Guests while processing transactions, make timely and accurate bill calculations, and reconcile money from assigned banks.
Complete Guest To Go order transactions and ensure their accuracy.
Sell merchandise from the Front Desk, if applicable.
Follow dress guidelines and maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
