About The Position

Hotel Shattuck Plaza is seeking a friendly, dependable full-time Front Desk Agent/Guest Service Concierge to support a welcoming and memorable guest experience at its historic downtown Berkeley hotel. The role assists guests from arrival through departure and helps keep Front Desk operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly. The schedule is based on hotel needs and requires flexibility for morning and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and a welcoming attitude.
Comfort handling payments, reviewing guest accounts, and resolving billing questions.
Dependability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous hotel Front Desk or guest service experience.
Familiarity with hotel property management systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests and provide friendly, efficient check-in and check-out service.
Respond professionally and attentively to guest questions, requests, and concerns; follow through on needs and involve a supervisor or manager when additional support is required.
Share information about hotel amenities, dining, transportation, and local attractions.
Answer calls and assist with reservations and guest inquiries.
Manage room assignments, guest accounts, payments, and folios accurately.
Process reservations, special requests, and reservation changes.
Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments regarding room readiness and guest needs.
Maintain clear shift notes and communicate outstanding items to the next shift.
Follow cash-handling, guest privacy, and hotel safety procedures.
Keep the Front Desk area organized, professional, and welcoming.
