About The Position

Shaner Hotels is hiring a Front Desk Agent for the opening team at its new 80-room Hampton Inn by Hilton in downtown Columbia, Pennsylvania. The role provides courteous, efficient service to hotel guests and visitors, including handling check-ins and check-outs, processing payments, responding to complaints, and sharing information about local activities and attractions. The agent also supports front-desk operations by producing daily reports and coordinating with Housekeeping to resolve room-status discrepancies.

The hotel is located in a historic former factory near the Susquehanna River and downtown Columbia. Shaner Hotels describes itself as a hospitality owner-operator and management company with a portfolio of more than 70 properties across 14 states and three countries. The selected candidate will join the hotel's opening team and help deliver guest experiences as the property opens.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers so they can understand.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and efficient guest service, including processing hotel check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Process guest payments according to hotel requirements and follow payment, cash-handling, and credit policies and procedures.
• Provide information and services to guests and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Generate, print, and distribute daily reports to designated departments or personnel.
• Resolve room-status report discrepancies with Housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
