About The Position

This role welcomes guests to Manor Vail Lodge from the moment they arrive, setting the tone to make cherished memories. The position may be filled as a seasonal Front Desk Agent or a seasonal Winter Intern; the essential duties and qualifications are the same for both. Shared housing may be available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three months of related experience or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to work morning, midday, or evening shifts.
  • Available mid-November 2026 through mid-April 2027 with some flexibility on start/end dates.
  • Able to work 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training materials, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, and percentage calculations, and to count back change accurately during cash transactions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, verbal, or diagram form; and to work through everyday problems using sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and hotel property management software (Springer Miller System), along with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s license helpful, though not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets, registers, and checks in guests.
  • Issues room keys and assists guests with directions and an overview of the property and amenities.
  • Answers inquiries about lodge services, guest registration, and local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Inputs work orders from guests and staff through HotSOS to the Housekeeping and Engineering teams.
  • Rings up and charges items from the lobby market.
  • Works across multiple software systems at once to keep the guest experience seamless.
  • Computes folios, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
  • Posts charges such as room charges, dry cleaning, and spa services to guest folios.
  • Completes shift checklist as assigned.
  • Works with the Room Reservations and Housekeeping teams, partnering across all areas of the Lodge.
