About The Position

The French Interpreter provides in-person interpretation for local clients in the Omaha, Nebraska area, including medical facilities. The role supports non-English speakers by using language and cultural knowledge to facilitate communication. This is an independent contractor, PRN position with flexible, as-needed hours; work is not guaranteed and depends on interpreter availability, languages spoken, and client needs. Applicants must have some weekday availability between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., when services are typically needed. Candidates must provide proof of vaccination or exemption documentation before the interview; medical information will be handled confidentially.

Requirements

• Be fully bilingual.
• Have excellent communication and listening skills.
• Be familiar with medical terminology.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Have transportation to attend local appointments; the position is in-person only.
• Have technical skills to learn and use an online portal, including printing and uploading vouchers.
• Have access to a printer.
• Have some availability Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Complete required background checks and drug screens.
• Provide proof of vaccination or medical or religious exemption documentation before the interview.
• Include all languages spoken in the resume.
