About The Position

Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring for a Freight Operations position in Juneau, Alaska. The role involves securing, unloading, and loading freight; operating a warehouse forklift; working on a barge deck; and helping receive and distribute freight between the facility and customers. Applicants must be able to apply for and be issued a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Requirements

Be able to apply for and be issued a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Show up to work on time and ready to work.
Have attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, and good organizational skills.
Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be able to work around moving mechanical parts and in moderate to moderately loud noise.
Be able to travel for short periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

Secure, unload, and load freight using banding, dunnage, binders, and chains.
Operate a warehouse forklift.
Work on the deck of a barge to set and pull cones, secure containers, and assist operators as needed.
Help receive and distribute freight to and from customers at the facility.
Carry out duties with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
