About The Position

A Freight Forwarder, Ocean Export manages ocean import and export shipments and coordinates the logistics process, including customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, documentation, and delivery or pickup. The role works with customers, carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and internal departments to support timely, efficient shipment handling and service delivery. It is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is full-time.

Requirements

• Fluency in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean imports, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage ocean exports, including booking carriers and coordinating the movement of goods through transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit customs-clearance documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, support satisfaction, and address concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance, operations, and other internal departments to support timely and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
