About The Position

A Freight Forwarder, Ocean Export at DSV manages the logistics of ocean import and export shipments. The role coordinates customs clearance, carrier bookings, cargo movement and tracking, shipment documentation, and delivery or pickup arrangements. It also involves communicating with customers and third-party service providers, coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies, and collaborating with internal teams to provide timely, efficient service and ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade laws. Requirements

• Fluency in English is required.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in ocean import and export is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean imports, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage ocean exports, including carrier booking and movement of goods through transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit customs-clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, address concerns or issues, and support customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance, operations, and other internal departments to support timely and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
