About The Position

The Freight Clerk at Hugo’s Family Marketplace is responsible for unloading delivery trucks, organizing and staging inventory in department aisles, and stocking merchandise on store shelves. The role helps ensure products are properly stored, displayed, and available to customers while maintaining a clean and organized stock area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during overnight or early morning hours.
• Basic teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and standing.
• Ability to unload trucks and move heavy merchandise.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Unload merchandise from delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Inspect shipments for accuracy, damage, or missing items.
• Sort and organize products in the stockroom or staging area.
• Stock shelves, racks, and displays according to company standards.
• Rotate inventory and ensure older products are stocked first when required.
• Maintain clean and organized shelves and storage areas.
• Remove empty boxes, packaging, and debris from the sales floor and stockroom.
• Follow safety procedures while handling merchandise and equipment.
• Assist customers with locating products when needed and assist the courtesy team with carry-outs when needed.
