Freezer/Dairy Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. It helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the overall success of the perishables team. The position involves stocking products according to company planograms; monitoring temperature control and replenishing items; rotating products using FIFO procedures; checking product condition and expiration dates; cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving; verifying signage and pricing; and supporting seasonal merchandising and other departments as needed. The clerk is expected to follow company policies and standards, maintain regular and predictable attendance, and contribute to a safe, collaborative workplace and a positive Member experience.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food safety standards, and product-handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
- Work in temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen or dairy-related allergens.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
- Monitor temperature control and replenish low or missing items to support cold-chain integrity, freshness, and availability.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, removing damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to keep the department full and shoppable.
- Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Follow company policies and procedures for dairy and freezer operations.
- Perform other duties and provide additional support across departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Demonstrate inclusive, ethical, positive, and solution-oriented conduct and foster a safe, collaborative environment.
- Deliver service standards by engaging helpfully with Members, responding to questions or concerns, and escalating unresolved issues to a supervisor.
- Complete daily responsibilities accurately and efficiently while following supply and scheduling expectations and supporting club performance goals.
