Freezer and Dairy Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring products are properly stocked, rotated, and kept in good condition. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and food-safety compliance while providing excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the overall success of the perishables team. Team members are expected to demonstrate inclusive and ethical behavior, communicate openly, support a safe and collaborative environment, and contribute to a positive team culture. The role also involves delivering a positive Member experience by providing friendly assistance, responding to questions or concerns, and escalating unresolved issues when necessary. Clerks follow club standards, perform tasks accurately and efficiently, and use supplies responsibly to support operational and financial goals.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food-safety standards, and product-handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
- Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
- Exposure to temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen or dairy-related allergens.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
- Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
- Monitor temperature control and support cold-chain integrity; replenish low or missing items to maintain freshness and availability.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Inspect products for expiration dates and condition and remove damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food-safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain a full, shoppable department.
- Verify product signage and pricing for accuracy.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and club standards.
- Provide additional support across departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Deliver friendly service, respond promptly to Member needs, and escalate unresolved concerns to a supervisor.
- Complete daily responsibilities accurately and efficiently to support club and department goals.
