Freezer and Dairy Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while providing excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team. The position also supports team engagement, a safe and collaborative environment, and a positive Member experience. It includes following the club’s service standards, responding to Member questions or concerns, and escalating unresolved issues to a supervisor when necessary. The clerk performs daily work accurately and efficiently, follows company policies and procedures, and provides additional support across departments as needed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces; regular lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
- Exposure to temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen or dairy-related allergens.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
- Monitor temperature control and support cold-chain integrity; replenish low or missing products.
- Rotate products using FIFO procedures to reduce waste and maintain product quality.
- Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, removing damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain a full, shoppable department.
- Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Execute dairy and freezer operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide additional support across departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Follow Member service standards, engage with Members in a friendly and helpful manner, address questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
- Perform daily responsibilities accurately and consistently to support club goals and performance.
- Use supplies responsibly, follow scheduling expectations, and complete tasks efficiently.
