About The Position

The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, product rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while providing excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team.

This position requires frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces, regular lifting of up to 30 pounds, and occasional heavier lifting with assistance. The work involves temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas and potential exposure to cleaning agents and dairy- or frozen-product allergens.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Ability to work around temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas and potential exposure to cleaning agents and dairy- or frozen-product allergens.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.

Responsibilities

• Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
• Monitor temperature control and replenish low or missing items to support cold chain integrity, freshness, and availability.
• Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, removing damaged or outdated items.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
• Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain a full and shoppable department.
• Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
• Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
• Follow company policies and procedures for dairy and freezer operations.
• Provide additional support across departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Demonstrate inclusive, ethical, positive, and solution-oriented behavior and help foster a safe, collaborative, encouraging team environment.
• Deliver Member service standards, engage with Members in a friendly and helpful manner, respond to questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor when needed.
• Perform daily responsibilities accurately and consistently to support club goals, performance, and profitability.
• Use supplies responsibly, follow scheduling expectations, and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
