Founding Product Marketer - Lithos Ai

Unusual Ventures•San Francisco, CA
•$150,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Lithos is hiring its first marketer to establish the company’s marketing foundation. The role will define how Lithos communicates its high-speed AI inference product to AI developers and engineering leaders, identify and reach the best buyers, and turn technical performance and customer results into a memorable story. This is a hands-on position spanning marketing strategy and execution, from positioning and content to launches, events, founder visibility, and sales enablement. The marketer will track which messages and channels generate usage and pipeline, then focus on what works. Lithos is a small team, and this role is among its first ten hires.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of product marketing experience for a technical product sold to developers or engineering teams.
  • Technical depth sufficient to explain latency, throughput, and cost per token, read product documentation, run a quick benchmark, and communicate effectively with engineers.
  • Experience at an early-stage startup building the marketing function or a substantial part of it.
  • Ability to set direction independently and work as the sole marketer for a period.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas clearly, specifically, and engagingly.
  • Willingness to remain hands-on and build rather than manage a team immediately.

Nice To Haves

  • Product marketing experience in AI infrastructure, cloud, developer platforms, or data infrastructure.
  • Experience marketing inference, GPU cloud, model APIs, or agent tooling.
  • Experience launching an open-source or developer-first product.
  • An engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Define Lithos’s positioning and messaging for AI developers and engineering leaders building agents and customer-facing AI features where speed matters.
  • Translate benchmark results and customer wins into compelling stories.
  • Identify likely buyers, where they spend time, and what motivates them to try new products; use those findings to guide marketing.
  • Create or shape technical blog posts, benchmark write-ups, launch announcements, documentation pages, case studies, and customer videos.
  • Raise the profile of Lithos and its founders by securing relevant conferences, podcasts, panels, and community opportunities, and preparing talks and posts.
  • Plan and deliver product launches, developer meetups, and executive dinners in collaboration with partners and investors.
  • Build sales materials, including the pitch, website copy, competitive positioning, and customer-facing materials for the founders and founding account executive.
  • Measure which channels and messages generate product usage and pipeline, and invest more in what works.

Benefits

  • Meaningful early equity as one of Lithos’s first hires.
