About The Position

Healthpeak is hiring interns for Summer 2027 to join its Forward Deployed Software Engineering team. The role offers startup-like autonomy within an established organization and focuses on turning technology into a revenue-generating part of the real estate business. Engineers build products and platforms that support tenants, partners, and Healthpeak teams.

Interns work in a small, agile pod embedded with business teams, collaborating directly with operators, asset managers, and customer-facing colleagues. They identify opportunities, design solutions, and deliver practical value, working close to users and navigating ambiguity. The team prototypes, tests, launches, and scales ideas, sometimes taking a concept to production within weeks. Internal colleagues are the first customers, with the broader goal of creating seamless experiences for tenants and partners by minimizing friction.

Requirements

• Demonstrated programming expertise in languages such as Python, Java, C++, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience developing alongside AI agents, such as Claude Code.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, including practical experience with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving goals and iterative user feedback.
• Self-directed and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal oversight.

Nice To Haves

• Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
