Forward Deployed Software Engineer
About The Position
At Deploy, Forward Deployed Software Engineers use software engineering expertise to address customer challenges and pain points. The role serves as a primary point of contact for many enterprise customers, helping them succeed with Deploy’s API solutions and AI platforms. The engineer works with customers to translate business and product ideas into engineering solutions, resolve technical issues, and architect solutions that improve product adoption. Working closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations, the role builds full-scale integrations and delivers high-impact projects for large enterprises.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
- At least 1 year of software engineering experience.
- Prior professional experience supporting technical customers and iterating solutions in real time.
- Strong engineering background and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
- Deep understanding of software architecture and API integrations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience engaging business and technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact solutions for strategic partners.
- Resolve urgent technical customer support tickets and communicate proactively and promptly with key client stakeholders.
- Drive innovation through coding and implementation to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence priorities and shape the product roadmap.
- Build and maintain internal documentation, playbooks, and enablement content.
- Work with customers to define success metrics, KPIs, and adoption strategies aligned with their goals, and track progress.
- Represent the customer’s perspective internally and provide actionable feedback to influence product direction and feature development.
- Monitor usage, adoption, and engagement metrics to address risks proactively and support long-term retention.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices for data maintenance and handling as they relate to the role.
- Follow policies, guidelines, and procedures for protecting information assets.
- Report actual or suspected security or policy violations and breaches to an appropriate authority.
