About The Position

GripFusion is hiring a Forward-deployed Software Engineer to build and expand the software experiences that connect its Tactile Intelligence sports performance technology with athletes, coaches, and teams. This product-facing, full-stack role reports to the Head of Software and spans the ForceBall, iPad, mobile, and web products. The engineer will work with players and coaches to understand how they use tactile data, then turn those insights into shipped products. They will collaborate with product, embedded, data science, and design teams to develop visualizations, integrate existing customer systems, and establish shared design practices across baseball and golf. The role includes extending and hardening the existing React Native iPad app and AWS backend; building a React web dashboard for reviewing sessions, comparing athletes, and sharing insights; developing a mobile app that communicates directly with the ForceBall; creating novel visualizations, including 3D graphics; integrating third-party systems; and contributing to the golf platform. The engineer will balance rapid prototyping and discovery with production engineering, testing, and deployment, and use AI development tools and agentic workflows in daily work. This is a full-time, in-person position at GripFusion’s Performance Lab headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with up to 10% travel to MLB/NCAA teams and partners. The environment is a collaborative startup, with work across hardware, firmware, software, design, and data science. The company describes opportunities for professional growth, direct access to leadership, and participation in product direction and engineering practices as its platforms expand. Compensation includes a base salary of $110,000–$145,000, commensurate with experience, and 0.1%–0.25% equity. Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement matching.
