Forward Deployed Engineer

About The Position

Globality builds Glo, an autonomous sourcing platform that manages the intake-to-award process for enterprise procurement. The Forward Deployed Engineer helps enterprise procurement teams realize the value of Glo by deploying it within their systems and aligning it with their sourcing policies. The role embeds with customer procurement, IT, and security teams to configure the platform, integrate it with customer systems, and build customer-specific solutions—including changes to the core product when configuration and extensions are insufficient. This position sits within the Product organization and works closely with Product and Engineering. It leads technical customer deployments from kickoff through go-live and adoption, monitors production agents and deployment outcomes, and turns field insights and reusable patterns into platform improvements. The role is based in Palo Alto, with in-office work four days per week and one day of location flexibility. Customer-site travel may be needed.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer, forward deployed engineer, or solutions engineer, with a track record of shipping production code and direct customer exposure.
  • Experience building at an AI-native company or on an AI-native platform, with production exposure to LLM-based applications, agents, or workflow automation.
  • Working knowledge of designing, evaluating, and monitoring LLM-powered systems, including prompt design, tool use, retrieval, guardrails, and output evaluation.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript and comfort working with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and SQL.
  • Experience contributing to a shared production codebase, including code review, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, procurement, or identity platforms, and familiarity with SSO, OAuth, and role-based access control.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and understanding of enterprise security and data privacy expectations, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical decisions to procurement executives and engineering peers.
  • Sound judgment in ambiguous customer situations, a strong bias toward ownership and outcomes, and the ability to manage multiple deployments at once.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or finance technology.
  • Experience with enterprise procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Jaggaer.
  • Experience with agent frameworks, evaluation tooling, or multi-agent orchestration.
  • Experience building developer tooling, SDKs, or APIs used by other engineers.
  • Prior ownership of a customer-facing product feature from design through production.

Responsibilities

  • Build custom connectors, data pipelines, and prototypes to meet customer-specific requirements.
  • Modify and extend the Glo core product when customer needs cannot be met through configuration or extensions, and ship production code through the standard code review and release process.
  • Lead technical deployments of Glo for enterprise customers from kickoff through go-live and adoption.
  • Integrate Glo with customer systems of record, including ERP, procurement, contract management, and identity platforms, using APIs, webhooks, and SSO.
  • Configure intake flows, sourcing workflows, approval rules, and procurement governance to match customer policies and spend categories.
  • Tune Autonomous Mode and Collaborative Mode behavior for each customer, including agent guardrails, negotiation parameters, and evaluation criteria.
  • Partner with customer procurement leaders, IT, and information security teams to scope requirements, resolve technical blockers, and complete security reviews.
  • Monitor deployed agents in production, diagnose issues, and measure outcomes such as cycle time, savings, and spend under management.
  • Capture field insights and reusable patterns and work with Product and Engineering to turn them into platform capabilities.
  • Document reusable deployment patterns in line with Globality's SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001:2022 controls.
