About The Position

Trellis helps healthcare providers treat more patients faster by eliminating pre-service paperwork through automation of document intake, prior authorizations, and appeals. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic labs to understand operational challenges and implement AI-powered solutions that improve patient care. The role combines senior engineering depth with strategic healthcare consulting, working in small, autonomous teams with direct access to leadership and ownership of end-to-end, high-impact projects. You will architect and build custom AI workflows, integrate with EHR systems, develop healthcare data pipelines, process complex clinical and insurance information, create tools that fit existing workflows, and establish implementation roadmaps and success metrics. The role also offers close collaboration with F500 customers and Trellis's founding team, broad ownership, and opportunities to contribute beyond engineering, including sales, marketing, and recruiting.

Responsibilities

Architect and build custom AI workflows, integrate with EHR systems, and develop healthcare-specific data pipelines.
Work with clinical teams, operations managers, and C-suite executives to understand workflows and optimize outcomes.
Process and structure complex healthcare data, including clinical notes, insurance guidelines, and lab results.
Build custom interfaces and tools that integrate into existing healthcare workflows.
Establish implementation roadmaps and success metrics for large-scale healthcare transformation projects.
Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact projects.
