Forward Deployed Engineer

ChipAgents•San Jose, CA

About The Position

ChipAgents is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer with a background in chip design, verification, and EDA who wants to build software. The role embeds directly with customer teams at large semiconductor companies, working alongside an internal R&D engineer and a customer-side domain expert. The engineer identifies customers’ underlying problems and builds new capabilities with them, beyond supporting the existing product. The position focuses on turning field problems in RTL development and verification into working, shipped solutions. It includes owning customer relationships from problem definition through delivery, and writing code that connects ChipAgents to customer design flows, including RTL, testbenches, simulators, and verification environments. Frequent on-site customer travel is expected.

  • Software engineering skills; Python is required.
  • Strong interest in working at the intersection of software and hardware.
  • Comfort building under ambiguity and shipping custom working solutions without a stable specification.
  • Experience using AI agents, especially coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode.
